Laundry Services.

House Services provide the facility to launder clinically contaminated lab coats, sheets for teaching and others items. Please refer to contacts list for the relevant Building Superintendent relating to your building who will arrange for your items to be labelled and laundered.

Labelling of laundry items for safe return

If you currently have lab coats or any other item requiring the University's laundry service, you must ensure the following:

  • All items are clearly identified using the approved bar-coded University laundry label.
  • New items will require bar coding which can be arranged via your Building Superintendent.
  • Under no circumstances can objects be left in coat pockets (especially scissors, pens and knives).
  • It is the responsiblity of the user to ensure all items are handed over for launder in a safe manner. Bagged and tagged appropriately.

Dry Cleaning

If you have University provided coats, suits or other items requiring dry cleaning you must ensure the following:

  • All items are submitted in a securely fastened dark blue laundry bag.
  • The bag carries a label that must include your name and department along with the number of garments.
  • Under no circumstances can objects be left in coat pockets (especially scissors, pens and knives).
  • Laundry drop off points are usually in a stores location.If your building does not have a stores and you require information where to drop off please contact your Building Superintendent.

Logo Mats.

  • University Of Manchester Logo Mats are laundered on a weekly basis and for Entrance to Buildings only.
  • Should you require additional or replacement mats please contact your relevant Building Superintendent.
