Manchester Engineering Campus Development

The University of Manchester is investing over £300 million to create a bespoke engineering campus in the centre of the city, on the north end of the existing Oxford Road campus. The Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD) will be largest single development ever constructed on the University’s site.

MECD will strengthen the research and learning facilities by providing the spaces that can complement and support the pioneering engineering developments that are occurring every day at the University of Manchester, with enough inbuilt flexibility to adapt to future opportunities.

Demolition of the buildings currently occupying the site will begin during early summer 2015 and will conclude during the first half of 2016. The new building will be ready for occupancy during 2020, and will be home to;
