Quad Conservation Project - conserving our heritage
Client Representative: Sam Johnson
Completion due: 2016
Refurbishment of the external building facades
A major project began in 2010 to conserve the quad buildings including John Owens, Christie, Beyer and the Manchester Museum.
Some external features are in need of works to conserve their beauty and function. The works will ensure that the building future and our heritage is assured for many generations to come.
In addition upgrading the single glazed windows to incorporate double glazing will assist The University of Manchester to reduce the carbon emissions associated with heating the building and improve occupant comfort.
This major investment (£11.3m) will continue in phases.
