Refurbishment

The £5m project began in December 2012 and involves the conversion of the former basement laboratory areas into new, modern style lecture teaching spaces.

This has required complete major structural engineering alterations to the building to provide the required open space and unobstructed sight lines.

These heavy engineering works were completed in early June allowing construction to start on the fit out of the lecture theatres. In addition to these, the project also includes refurbishment works to adjacent corridor and welfare facilities and the construction of a new staircase allowing improved movement around the building and easier access and exit.
