Furniture Removals and Relocations

House Services assist in small office/venue furniture removals either for recycling or relocation. Larger removals may need the assistance of a specalist removal company on a recharge basis which House Services will be happy to arrange and advise on.

All unwanted furniture is assessed by House Services and the University Waste Co-ordinator and is either allocated for disposal or reuse via the furniture4reuse scheme.

Furniture4reuse

House Services and Environmental Services jointly manage the furniture4reuse scheme which is currently based in the McDougall Centre.

All unwanted furniture is returned to the furniture store and items suitable for re-use are available for staff to re-use free of charge*.

Items that are assessed at the furniture store as not being suitable for re-use will be disposed of to a local furniture re-use company upmcr.com rather than sent for disposal.

* there will be a delivery charge payable to the University's removal contractors depending on the amount of furniture and location involved.
